Bringing ‘lyrical magic’ to Sheffield this May will be the ‘visually stunning’ play, Honey, produced by the Reaction Theatre Makers. The Malvern-based theatre company have been preparing for their national tour, having already established glowing support for their play in the Worcestershire hills. Honey gave audiences a glimpse into a rural Welsh community, where a fraying family have been trying to stitch together a quilt, which eloquently mirrors the patchwork nature of the narrative. The meditative writing absorbed those watching into the internal dialogues of a boy with autism, his mother, her tattoo-artist sister and their estranged half-sibling in their struggle to deal with missing a part of their family, creating a gentle but profound drama.
